About Uttarakhand

Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is a state with a glorious history nestled in the lap of the Central Himalayas. This region of the Himalayas has been the basis of many civilizations and cultures from the Vedic period to the modern period. The gods reside here. In the Skanda Purana, the Himalayan region is divided into Nepal, Kurmanchal, Jalandhar, Kashmir and Kedarkhand. Two of these five blocks, Kurmanchal and Kedarkhand, are today known as Uttarakhand.

It is mentioned in the Ramayana that when Lord Rama commanded Bharat to make the adolescent sons of Lakshman the suzerain of a land which is not only idyllic but also where there is no disturbance, where neither people of criminal instinct nor other states live. If you are suffering from it, then Bharat chose this holy land of Uttarakhand. This Devbhoomi has been dear to great saints, philosophers and thinkers.
